PARUPPU THUVAYAL/ TAMILNADU LENTIL CHUTNEY

The obsession for different kinds of chutneys and pickles is one thing hard to remove from a South indian kitchen. This simple chutney is made with roasted tuvar dal and mildly spiced perfect for idli dosa and rasam rice. Do try out this recipe and let me know how u like it

INGREDIENTS

1. Ghee 2tbsp
2. Pigeon peas / tuvar dal 1/2cup
3. Dry red chillies 2
4. Asafoetida/hing 1/2tsp
5. Fresh grated coconut 5 tbsp
6. Salt to taste

PROCEDURE

1. Take ghee in a kadhai roast dal on low heat gently till brown in colour
2. Take this in a mixer add coconut salt red chillies asafoetida and few 2tbsp water to grind to a thick fine paste
4. Take out in a bowl and relish with idli dosa or rasam rice
